If you are like me you don’t enjoy going to the grocery store. Shopping for groceries and household items is just not fun. Ibotta is an app that can make the experience a little more pleasurable and entertaining. Buying the products that we eat and use everyday is a part of everyday life. Ibotta is a great app that can make the process a little more enjoyable. It allows you to earn cash back on items you purchase from a large variety of retailers. It’s also simple, fast and easy to use. With the price of everything we consume going up, it’s nice to know you can get some cash back from your purchases, and this is just the right app for the job.
Get Real Cash Back on Things You Buy every day, such as Groceries, Restaurants and Online Shopping
The selection of stores from which to shop from is incredible. Simple choose your store and add the items that you want to purchase with the + in the app. Just about any retailer you can think of is represented so choose from one or two of your favorites.
You may also connect your store loyalty account to Ibotta for certain retailers. Food Lion and Kroger, two grocery stores in my area are a good example . This is the simplest way to earn cash back. Simply choose your favorite store and check if they allow loyalty linking with the app. If there is an account button named Link Retailer at the top of the screen, click on it to put in your information. Then, when you check out with your loyalty card, the app automatically calculates your cash back.
This way you can also take advantage of coupons available to you with your store loyalty card and often save while earning at the same time. Super easy! I like to shop at Kroger with this app, it allows for the use of store coupons coupled with rebate offers that can really add up to savings. For example Kroger had a dishwasher detergent capsule on sale with and added coupon. Ibotta offered $2 cash back for the same product. My total savings was $5 off of something that I needed to purchase anyway. This is a win-win in my book.
Another example is at my local Food Lion store . They had a special on the type of cat food that I feed my fur babies. Ibotta had an offer of $3 cash back for that same brand. So in total I saved $3 and earned $3 cash for something that I purchase anyway. This saved me $6 total. Not too shabby.
If you like to shop online with your computer or your phone then the Ibotta app has you covered.
- To shop on your phone, it’s easy. simply tap Grocery pickup & delivery on the home screen of the app. Select the store of your choice and then tap on the the Shop Online or Link [Retailer] account button at the top of the page. It sounds complicated but it really isn’t. Once you use the app once or twice you will get the hang of it.
- Examine hundreds of offers, take a look at the offers and select the ones that you are interested in by tapping on the + sign next to the product. Then all you have to do is finish your grocery shopping. Within a day of receiving or picking up your order, your cash back will show up in your Ibotta earnings. It really adds up fast.
- To shop from your PC or laptop, install the the Ibotta browser extension from the Chrome store. Then sign in to your Ibotta account. Your screen will automatically display the extension in the upper right corner when you shop on a retailers website. I do this a lot with Walmart.
- After pick up or delivery. Continue shopping as normal, and withing 24 hours your cash back will be credited to your account.
Earn Extra Cash
Maximize your cash back by checking out the offers at your local retailers when you are making your shopping list. You can also take advantage of Ibotta incentives. One of these is to refer a friend and make an automatic $5. Its also fun to discover how much cash back you can get each time you go shopping. I have tried some new products that have become favorites this way. By selecting cash back on an item that I do not typically purchase I have widened my food horizons and found some really yummy products in the process.
Overall, this is a great app to use to maximize your savings on things that you use every day. And who doesn’t like cash back? I certainly do. So go ahead and shop, then enjoy while your cash back grows, there really is no limit to what you can earn. It’s also super easy to cash out to your bank account or to Pay Pal. I usually wait until I have $50-$100 in my account and then celebrate with something special. And it’s fun to watch my cash back grow until it gets there.
